  • 1 kg Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Garlic Cloves

  • Make the Sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth and thick. Stir in 200 g cheese, parsley, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Cook until creamy.
  • Preheat: Heat oven to 200°C (392°F).
  • Prep Potatoes: Peel and slice potatoes thinly (about 1.5 mm). Slice onion and garlic.
  • Assemble: Arrange potato slices upright in a baking dish. Tuck in onion and garlic. Pour cheese sauce over, then top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake 1–1½ hours, until tender. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Serve: Let rest 5 minutes, then serve warm and enjoy!
